  1. Cake Instructions
    1. Preheat oven to 350*F and prepare an 8x8 baking dish with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
    2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, apple cider, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    3. Add in the cake mix, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves and combine.
    4. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 25-32 minutes. You may need a few additional minutes depending on your oven. The applesauce will make it extra moist, resulting in slightly longer baking time.
    5. Let cool completely.
  2. Frosting Instructions
    1. In an electric stand mixer, add the butter and mix on low for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
    2. Slowly add in the powdered sugar until it becomes a frosting consistency.
    3. Add in the milk, vanilla extract, orange zest, and cinnamon until combined.
    4. Frost the cake once the cake is cooled. Using an offset spatula, make swoops in the frosting to get a textured look.
