Fresh, healthy, and vibrant are the first three words that pop into my head with this guacamole recipe. Just a few whole ingredients turn this classic into an elevated appetizer or side dish that will make you want to come back to time and time again.

Homemade Guacamole
Description
Guacamole has always been a fan favorite. And while it’s easily accessible to just buy pre-made at the store (and nothing wrong with that!) it really is just as easy to make homemade. Sure, it takes a little more work than just opening a container, but I promise the effort will be worth it. There is something about fresh guacamole that just tastes… well, better! The jalapeño gives it a slight kick of heat, and the lime juice cuts through that rich avocado so perfectly. Next time you are having a taco night or friends over for appetizers, give this recipe a try and make a little extra to keep for yourself later!
Ingredients
Instructions
-
- Halve the avocados and remove the pit. Run a knife diagonally across the avocado half one way careful not to cut all the way through and pierce the skin, and then across the other creating a crisscross pattern. Use a spoon to scoop out the avocado pieces and place into a large mixing bowl.
- Use a fork or potato masher to smash the avocados, leaving some chunks visible.
- Add in the lime juice, jalapeño, red onion, and cilantro. Mix until combined.
- Start with adding in a small amount of salt and pepper and taste as you go to ensure the desired amount is added for your palette.
- Serve with tortilla chips, veggies, tacos, or whatever you would like!
Notes
- While storing in the refrigerator to keep it from browning, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the guacamole and then cover with an air-tight lid.
